Magat Dam

Magat Dam is a massive rock-fill dam on Luzon, Philippines. The dam is situated on the Magat River, a major tributary of the Cagayan River. Construction of the dam began in 1975 and ended in 1982.
Magat Dam, one of the Philippines’ largest dams, generates hydroelectric power and provides irrigation water to surrounding areas.
The late President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed P.D. 693 on May 7, 1975, authorising construction and appurtenant constructions.
The Magat Dam was built in 1978 and inaugurated by Ferdinand E. Marcos on October 27, 1982. It began operations in 1983.
Based on a 1973 preliminary study by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), with funding from the USBR and USAID, this multipurpose project was implemented.
NIA’s most audacious infrastructure project and one of Asia’s largest dams was certified feasible after intensive dam site assessment and engineering studies.
It was Southeast Asia’s first big multifunctional dam. The World Bank-financed Magat River Multipurpose Project (MRMP) aims to modernise the Magat River Irrigation System (MARIS) and triple rice production in the Cagayan River basin.

Pancit Batil Patong is Tuguegarao City, Cagayan’s traditional pancit. Dish includes noodles, toppings, and sauce. Egg noodles, ground beef or water buffalo meat, pork liver, onions, mung bean sprouts, scallions, cabbage, carrots, eggs, soy sauce, black pepper, and oil make up the first section. In contrast, beef stock, eggs, carrots, onions, and celery make the Final dish resemble egg drop soup. The sauce-topped noodles and pork are served warm. Cabagan pancit is usual. The dish typically consists of lechon carajay (crispy pork belly seasoned and deep-fried), egg noodles, quail eggs, carrots, bell peppers, parsley, pork shoulder, cabbage, garlic, beef stock, soy sauce, fish sauce, scallions, oil, and black pepper. Pig pieces are stir-fried with garlic that has been sautéed in oil. Add soy sauce, fish sauce, and beef stock and simmer pork until tender. The remaining ingredients are added to the pan and cooked for a few minutes before being topped with lechon carajay and served warm. This pancit has more sauce than most.
